Sorare Marketplace is collaborating with the NBA to develop a fantasy basketball game using NFTs.

Sorare will develop a fantasy basketball game based on NFTs with the NBA.

The NBA has named Sorare as its ‘official NFT fantasy partner’.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) and European non-fungible token (NFT) platform Sorare are working to develop a digital collectibles-based fantasy basketball game.

The NBA and its players association, the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), announced a multi-year partnership with Paris-based Sorare in a statement on the league’s website. Sorare has become the NBA’s ‘Official NFT Fantasy Partner.’

Users will be able to create a NFT-based collectible lineup of NBA star players in time for the 2022-23 season in October. The game will be based on fantasy sports.

Major League Baseball partnered with Sorare in July, the latest sports organisation to utilise NFTs. The German Bundesliga and La Liga utilised Sorare’s NFT capabilities last year, in addition to the NBA.

With licenses from major leagues and teams, Sorare develops NFT-based sports games. Sorare claims to have 2 million registered users across 185 countries.
